The Bandung Institute of Technology (Institut Teknologi Bandung, ITB) is the main technical university in Indonesia and is home to two Earth Sciences Faculties: the Faculty of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, and the Faculty of Earth Science and Technology. Since the middle of 2008 the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Technology (FTTM) offers a Master Degree Program in Geothermal Technology.
This program is a four semesters intensive program that puts strong emphasis on technical and practical aspects needed in professional practice of geothermal energy exploration, exploitation, utilization, economics, management and environmental issues. ITB is the leading Indonesian university partner in the GEOCAP Consortium. ITB has a close collaboration with the University of Manado which will be a regional university preferred partner to the consortium.
