State Secretary Dijksma witnessed the signing ceremony on 23 November in Jakarta between Pak Djajang (BPSDM), Professors Tom Veldkamp (ITC) and Freek van der Meer (GEOCAP).

The purpose of the Plan is to enhance expertise in the field of Geothermal through trainings by the Netherlands and Indonesian experts. Through the agreement GEOCAP has the ability to support participants from outside Java to participate in train the trainer events. There are several geothermal working areas on islands other than Java which cannot be explored because there is a lack of skilled personnel. The enables GEOCAP to invite up to 10 lecturers from universities outside Java to each of the 16 workshops planned in 2016 and 2017.
